I decided to explore Cederville University this weekend, and I found this truck on campus. What is this??? Is it legal?

Honda Acty, I believe. There were a couple of companies that imported little Japanese trucks and vans and sold them as affordable and more practical alternatives to side by side utility vehicles like Gators, Rangers, etc. Not legal for on-road use, but usable on private grounds like the campus.

No plates, so not legal. those types of trucks are everywhere here, people use them on farms mostly, though I’ve also seen them as maint. trucks in small communities.

It is indeed an Acty, probably from the ‘80s.

Depends on your definition of legal, and how it was imported.

Often, they’re modified to lock out any gears above 2nd, before importation. If that was the case, it might actually be legal to import, depending on how it was done. And, in some states, it might actually be legal to use on the roads as a tractor.

I’m not sure if Ohio is like Indiana. However if it is these could be Street legal everywhere except interstates.

Indiana has a mini truck law. As long as it cannot go above 60 and you don’t drive on interstates it is fair game.
